The Feedback Thread

Update 2013/1: Due to the influx of spam not being handled by Akismet, I have disabled comments on this post.

As of today Shrub has entered its beta testing phase, so we’re looking for feedback on what kinds of things people would like to see for this site.

While we welcome constructive criticism on any site-related subject, here are some specific items we’re looking for feedback on:

  • Creating our mission statement and drawing members

Ultimately, we’re looking for Shrub to be a community site for those interested in social justice movements, anti-oppression activism, and intersectionality. What kinds of words and/or phrases do you think should be in our mission statement? What other ways can we appeal to those looking to network with like minded activists, learn more about various social justice movements, and enjoy themselves in (relatively) safe spaces?

  • Member profiles

What fields would you like to see in the Member Profile section? What kind of optional fields do you think would help people find others with related interests when searching?

  • Groups and forums

One of the extra features BuddyPress offers to registered members is the chance to create and participate in Groups and Forums (note: Forums are not yet set up). Are you interested in these features? How do you think that they can be effectively utilized? What kind of Groups/Forums would you like to see?

Over the next while the site will be undergoing various changes in responses to feedback so make sure to check in every so often to see how things are going!
